The PloiDB is a ploidy estimates database for seed plants.
It is the end result of a computational analysis comprised from:
Collecting all available chromosome counts (CCDB)
Partitioning of phylogenetic trees from the broad seed plant phylogeny of Smith & Brown (2018) at a desired phylogenetic scale (genus, family or increasing time scales of 5, 10 and 20 million years ago)
Inferring ploidy level for each taxon based on the collected chromosome number data and phylogeny using Chromevol
Choose Inference Scale:
In the Browse window you can find the list of seed plant taxa that were included in the latest ploidb run. You can browse data by two taxonomic scales: genus and family
In the Search window above you can search for ploidy inferences of specific genera, families of species as obtained by our inference scheme at different phylogenetic scales.
